THAT AUGUST KIND OF "BUSY" - YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN

One would think, with August being such a slow month in the retail business that we would be quiet at En Masse too.  Maybe we would catch up on some paperwork and cleaning(?).

But noooooo.  We MUST always be throwing ourselves at some new thing.  In September or October there will be major expansion coming for us.

In the meantime, here are a couple of summer bouquets.  In nice cool colors for August.

They aren't flower people...

So, they are having an anniversary and would like to celebrate with flowers, but they aren't really "flower" people. We gave them little handmade ceramic vases on a tray with a few blossoms of summer dahlias.  They said we were "spot on"!  Dahlias, serruria, millet, astrantia.

MEGAN & DAN @ THE INNER HARBOR

Under the tent overlooking the Inner Harbor at Baltimore. Tonight we're thinking of Megan & Dan - Congratulations - we just know it's a spectacular evening! You guys lucked out. Next stop Australia...
The bridal and attendant bouquets.
Centerpieces with red undertones in their slinky little vases in red sleeves. Had to get out the trusty sewing machine for the sleeves. Wow - I can still sew but keep it simple please.

TROPICAL BOUQUET FOR THIS WEEK'S BRIDE

Bouquets contain: Phalaenopsis, long gloriosa, oncidium orchids, cattleya orchids, orange dahlias, green cymbidium, burgundy cymbidium, red anthurium. Jessica, I know you were beautiful as a bride and the weather was perfect yesterday just for you. Hope you liked your bouquet...

SUMMER VASE DESIGN CLASS

It's amazing . . . we still have peonies in mid-June, big fluffy, ice cream scoop ones. This was an especially fun class. Vase design is easy if you understand the grid and mechanics underneath it all. But above and beyond that it's the special and unusual types of blossoms that make it work.

AGAIN WITH THE PAPER FLOWERS

Lauren loves specialty papers and made these flowers for her wedding bouquet (and she says she's not creative). En Masse assembled them for her. Poppy red and robin's egg blue. Congratulations Lauren and Madhu! Photos taken by Spence Photographics. Check out his blog for more photos of a beautiful wedding.
